1983, Michael Nicholas began his career in the field of Civil Engineering Technology with the US Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Lakewood, Colorado. The Bureau of Reclamation is responsible for the development and maintenance of concrete and earth dams in the US. The responsibilities include technical drawing, developing structural and steel design, along with fluid mechanics design. In 1988, he joined SDS Petroleum Products, Inc, Aurora, Colorado. At SDS, Michael was responsible for the marketing of natural gas, fuels and lubricants.

He began to work with Federal Government contracts and private sector clients to identify and develop business opportunities. Michael’s job duties included creating and submitting bids and rfp’s along with negotiating contracts, participating in strategic planning and the formulation of business strategies, and being responsible for all aspects of customer service and support.
In the summer of 2000, Mr. Nicholas started NIMS Services, Inc., a full service fuel and lubricants marketing corporation. Michael has been the guiding force of the company, securing contracts with companies such as American Airlines, Chevron Global Lubricants and government agencies such as the Defense Logistics Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. He has been successful while contracting with the Defense Energy Support Center, in the State of Colorado and California, the U.S. Coast Guard, the United States Army in Walla, Wall, Washington, Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, Colorado and the US Army, Ice Harbor Dam installation in Pasco, Washington.
